Southeast Colorado over Memorial Day
I spent the long weekend touring Southeast Colorado with my buddy Larry. On the weekend when everyone goes west out of Denver, we decided to go another direction. We stopped off at one of Larry’s collector friends in Hoehne, Colorado just outside Trinidad. Next we headed further east along highway 160 toward Kim exploring the area before camping on the edge of Tecolote Mesa. The next day we drove through Kim, through Villegreen before turning north along the East rim of the Purgatoire River Canyon. Next we toured the Niniview area and camped in this cool valley area with lots of buttes, runis, and wild flowers. We finished the trip stopping Las Animas, Higbee, and Vogel Canyon.
